Commercial Manager for Next-Gen Submarine Combat Systems – Join our International Team


kta naval systems AS was founded in October 2017 as a joint venture between thyssenkrupp Marine Systems, its Naval Electronic Systems business unit (ATLAS ELEKTRONIK) and Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace. With the support of their partners, kta naval systems now sets a new standard for next-generation combat systems in non-nuclear submarines.

Based on the combined expertise of the joint venture partners, kta naval systems develops, produces, and maintains as an exclusive supplier all combat systems for submarines from thyssenkrupp Marine Systems.

kta naval systems has its headquarters in Kongsberg, Norway, and a branch office in Bremen, Germany. This position is located in Kongsberg or Bremen; however, extended presence in Kiel is required.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
– Define contractual/legal conditions in offers and agreements
– Negotiate with customers, subcontractors, and partners
– Extensive end-customer relationship management both nationally and internationally
– Management in a commercial environment being responsible for the success of the campaigns
– Management of our main project partners, such as suppliers and customers/shipyards, including the interface to procurement, finance, legal support, and localization
– Deputy to the Campaign Manager
– Analysis and evaluation of customer requests such as RfIs and RfQs and transform into proposals including calculation and payment plans, terms and conditions, as well as handling bank/parent company guarantees
– Participation in campaign and localization strategies and in negotiations with customers, subcontractors, and partners
– Manage and mitigate commercial risks
– Regular internal and external reporting according to campaign process and company regulations
– Optional: Support in project execution and set up new projects

QUALIFICATIONS
– Significant experience in complex technical projects with proven success, particularly working in international teams and with international customers (preferably in governmental/military environments)
– Very pronounced proactive, holistic thinking and cooperative personality with financial and negotiation skills, even in demanding situations
– University degree in finance, economics, or law
– Strong intercultural competence and empathy
– Travel amount approximately 20–40% expected
– Language skills: Fluent in written and spoken English is a must, second international language would be a plus
